Description

One of my fave characters, which I did for two of the nicest people I know. E.T. and E.W. Bryan. Eveyone should check out their ABP website: [link]. You can read the first comic of the series for free! Full of Anime/American Goodness. [blatant plug].
First prop I built [the H-Bomb]. Used hardware pvc tube and cap for the body and nose. The tail cone was Silwhite polyurethyne poured into a oil funnel with the tip plugged up, then sanded down to fit. The tail was ordinary hobby spruce, cut and glued on with JB Qwik dabbed at the joins to give it that sloppy weld look of the 40's. I cut out a section of the body for the control panel and sculpted that in with Super Sculpy.
The overall theme is that Cypher is a storm fairy cast out of the clouds by an evil entity [read the comic!]. Losing her wings she becomes a leader among gremlins. Contrary to popular belief, they are able to fix anything.
So the sculpture is actually a bit of a joke. She's scratching her head with a pair of wire cutters, at the same time the clock is down to 17 seconds, and of course the three wires on the control panel are all red.
Seeing her close up the semi-gloss coating gives it a cartoony warm look. I just wish the reflectivity of that coating hadn't shown up so much in the jpg's. Oh well, until I get permission for my other works from their owners, this is the last one for a while. Hope you like. Sharp.
