First of all, the back page of art is just reference, I am not copying that pose. I had run into difficulty getting a simple pose in my mind to work, so I printed out some more examples of 14-bis's work and got a better sense of proportioning the character. Sometimes you just have to grab the figure and start twisting it around, shaping the clay without regard to what you've already done. I ended up raising the groin a full half an inch and re-adjusting the legs very heavily, and am back on track. Don't worry, the thunder thighs will be trimmed down. In the beginning, you have to be willing to start over if necessary to get a sense of the character.
