Notes on Wings and Tails. The wings were cut and shaped out of single pieces of aluminum sheeting. A "Key" was made where they had to go into her back. Secondary [Inner/smaller and Outer/smaller] feathers were cut out and reshaped to fit the curve of the wings. They were glued into place individually. Modeling putty was used to "fit" them in, and a great deal of sanding, additional putty,and cursing was involved.
The tail was simply a piece of steel piano wire bent into shape and "keyed" to fit at the same location. JB Kwik was laid over it for the main tail and sanded down. The tip of the tail was sculpted in Super Sculpy.
One of my favorite pieces overall.
