 The basic philosophy. Learn anatomy! Or at least Anatomical shapes. Knowing a bit about structure and musculature helps to knit a character together. Even if that character is a bunch of tubes and boxes, tying them together in a natural way can reside in that knowledge. In working out a character, collect your research and if you're working on an exact pose from photo or art: Size It To The Figure You're Going To Sculpt! That is, Print out the size of the sculpture you want to make and print it on cardstock. There is NO more valuable tool than a cut close picture, that you can place directly behind your sculpture as you work on it. If you

Bit of a delay. Wasn't getting a proper feel for the character, and printed out some additional art from 14-bis's site for more reference. Think I've got the direction now, and with a little work I'll be posting again soon. Problem is choosing the best features from the plethora of images he's done of Jenny! They're all so good! Update: After a few hours of sculpting, that definitely moved me in the right direction! More jpgs to come.

O.K. Time to stop playing around! It took a while longer than I expected to get fine control of my arm and left hand, but hopefully I'll be back to work on some new stuff very soon. As usual I will show the works in process as a sort of guide to my sculpting process. Have to talk to one of my fellow artists to get permission to use some of his design concepts for a character he excels at. Won't be giving a name to the next darling, but I'm sure she'll be recognizable to many of the animation buffs out there.
